My name is Alyanna Asuncion and I am so excited to be serving the community of SS Peter and Paul Parish as the Coordinator of Music! I was born and raised in the Bay Area and moved to Rocklin in 2017 with my parents and three siblings. I was raised in the faith and had the privilege of attending Catholic school growing up. Through my educational experiences and my family’s involvement in the Catholic church, I began to form a solid foundation in and natural curiosity about the faith. This led me to desire to serve and get involved at Church, whether it was through singing in the choir and lectoring in high school or attending youth ministry events at SS Peter and Paul.
I attended college at the University of California, Berkeley (Go Bears!) and graduated in May 2025 with my Bachelor’s in Public Health. I look upon my college years with great fondness and gratitude, as I consider them some of the most formative times in my life. I started attending Mass, faith formation, and fellowship events at the Newman Catholic Center in Berkeley my freshman year and began to form a deeper love for the Catholic faith. In college, I spent much of my time in Bible studies, discipleship groups, and serving as music chair on the Student Ministry Team.

I have always had a love for music. I remember taking music lessons as a kid ever since I could talk and trying to learn every musical instrument that reached my hands. Some of my greatest joys have been getting to offer the gift of music to the Lord in worship.
The support of my family, friends, and faith community have all helped guide me in my journey of saying “yes” to the Lord’s call to serve. Every day, I am reminded of how He calls us His Beloved and how He wants us to open our minds and hearts to His abundant love. As I return home from college, I hope to lead with and make this message known as I work with and serve the people of our parish.
