On May 15th, 2024, the completion of the new Nature Sanctuary marked a significant achievement for our parish community. This project has been a long time in the making, with countless hours of planning, fundraising, and hard work put in by dedicated volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. The result is a beautiful space that not only enhances our natural surroundings but also provides a valuable resource for worship, reflection, and enjoyment.
The Nature Sanctuary is a place where parishioners of all ages can come to relax and unwind. The beauty of nature has a calming effect on the mind and body, and spending time outdoors can help reduce stress and improve overall well-being. There is a stage, BBQ area, a walking trail with Stations of the Cross, quiet alcoves, and small classroom seating all available to experience nature up close and personal. Whether it's mass, private prayer, meetings, or just simply enjoying the peace and tranquility of the outdoors, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Nature Sanctuary.
A special thank you to Fr. Bony Arackal, the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento, the 40-Year Anniversary Committee, the Nature Area Improvement Project Committee, SSPP Finance Council, Rod and Julie Thayer, Omni Structures & Mgmt, our Sponsors, Principal Partners, Construction Partners, Parishioners, SSPP Pastoral Council, SSPP Staff, and Volunteers.
