Young Adult Ministry Information

...If you are in your late teens (18 or older), twenties or thirties; and are single, married, divorced, or widowed; and with or without children then we are talking about you!

1. To connect young adults with Jesus Christ through spiritual formation/direction, religious education/formation, and vocational discernment.
2. To connect young adults to the Church through evangelizing outreach, formation of the faith community, and pastoral care.
3. To connect young adults with the mission of the Church in the world through forming a Christian conscience, educating and developing leaders for the present and future.
4. To connect young adults with a peer community through developing peer leadership and identifying a young adult team for the purpose of forming faith communities of peers.

Here at SS Peter and Paul there are a large number of parishioners who have graduated from High School and are attending local junior colleges and universities. Our goal is to facilitate a group that meets monthly for fellowship and discussion about the issues they face given the current challenges associated with college life, starting a career, and starting a family. We are also hoping to include opportunities for service and mentoring.

Please join us after 5:00 Mass on the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of each month from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM in Room 11 to meet new friends, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and be a part of sharing thoughts on topics of discussion and planning upcoming gatherings …. We would love to get to know you!!!!

This Summer 2025 we have the unique opportunity to have all the authentic elements of an out-of-state Mission Trip while serving right here in our local community.
Join us for an At Home Mission experience: 
STAY - Serving Those around You! 
Dates: July 27th to August 1st, 2025

This year our theme is "Breath of God"  and we will focus on service being led by the Holy Spirit. Our guest host this year will be Keith Adams, a youth ministry friend from New Hampshire. He is looking forward to being with us again this year! I am delighted to announce that Katie Maynard and Carol Wiget will also be joining us for part of the week. I am so grateful for this amazing team and can't wait for you to meet them. (PS- if we are lucky, Kurt will also be joining us!)
NOTE: The help of MANY adults is needed in various capacities. Please consider helping in the kitchen, as a site chaperone or as a different kind of support person. What to Expect: 

• During the day we will be serving our local brothers and sisters in need. 
• We have some great  worksites and projects set-up for our missionaries...The Gathering Inn, Koinonia, SPCA, a local nursery, an art project & more.
• Evening Programming will include inspiring talks, prayer, praise & worship and FUN!  

What to Bring/WEAR:

• A water bottle
• Sunscreen, a hat and other supplies as needed
• Clothing appropriate for your worksite and sturdy shoes (no flip flops).
• For our overnight Thursday to Friday at SS Peter and Paul will be optional. Evening Session will end at 9PM for those not staying over night. If you are staying, please bring: Toiletries, Pajamas and a change of clothes, a sleeping bag, a pillow. You can bring a game to share or a small musical instrument. Parents are invited to join us for Mass on Friday Morning at 8:30 in the church and/or to our closing commissioning on Friday at 1:30 PM and all missionaries will need to be picked up by 2PM on Friday.

Daily Schedule: ( We encourage all participants to be fully present but if life needs navigating please discuss other commitments with Nancy BEFORE the week begins. A little flexibility is available. Our main objective is to have as many participate as possible to the extent that they are able!)

• Have a hearty breakfast at home or put your name on Robert's List to have a hot breakfast at church Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (7:30-7:50 AM)
• Meet at SSPP at 7:50-8:00 AM to make your lunch in the Social Hall...
• Gather for morning program at 8:00AM in the courtyard by Room 11.
• 8:30 AM depart for service sites with your team.
• Work at service sites until 2 PM.
• Return for afternoon snack, team meeting and site sharing at SSPP.
• Dinner at 6 PM.
• Evening programming will end by 9 PM.
• Return home for a good nights sleep!
• Sunday 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM will include being blessed at Mass, dinner and programming. 
• Friday  will conclude at 2:00 PM. 

                    All Young Adults Ages 18-24 Registration Process:

  Please Download your form on this page (Consent Form) and submit them to the Parish office between May 1st and July 19th. You can also print out the flyer and recruit your friends! This year Keith Adams is planning some special programming for you in the afternoons to help you focus on Leadership, Faith, and general formation! Every afternoon when you return from your worksites, plan to spend a couple of hours in the Social Hall with him to maximize the impact of STAY Mission for Young Adults this summer!

Join us for our Meet-up on July 12th in Room 11 at 10AM and July 19th from 9:00-10:00 AM in the Social Hall (Tie-dye day!)  

You can use the form below to pay the registration fee of $50. Please note in the comments that you are signing up for STAY Mission and indicate the days that you will be volunteering! 

You must also complete or be current on your Safe Environment Training!
